MSA Reference Manual – What Changed?
The Measurement System Analysis (MSA) third edition reference manual has been updated.
Key changes include the addition of examples to aid in the understanding of basic measure system fundamentals. Further enhancements include:
- Improvements to the table of contents to aid in the manual usage
- Clarification of the relationship between calibration and MSA
- Clearer definition of the measurement decision (5-10-30)
- Improved the bias and linearity sections
- Clarified and improved the attribute and the non-replicable (i.e., destructive) testing section
All of the changes have helped to make the manual an asset for the understanding of measurement systems and the use of those systems to improve quality and services.
As a reminder, the MSA 4th Edition is utilized as a reference document to provide guidance in the application of ISO/TS16949 compliance, unless otherwise specified by the customer. The applications in this manual are recommended, however alternative methodologies are acceptable as long as they meet the intent. |
